Transportation Planner
Overview
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Orlando, FL office is seeking a Transportation Planner to join their Project Development & Environment (PD&E) group. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Responsibilities
Assist in development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities
Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
Skills & Abilities
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently
Excellent attention to detail
Proficiency with communication tools such, Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field
Minimum of 1-3+ years of related professional planning and/or compliance experience
