Position Summary: The Logistics Coordinator position will work alongside the customer service team and act as the primary point of contact for their customer accounts. This position will be responsible for the day to day operations with each of their assigned customer accounts to ensure their transportation needs are met. The Logistics CSR will assist Sales Managers in onboarding new customers and work with them to ensure the customers have everything they need from our group. They will manage each load from pickup to delivery, enter new loads into our TMS system (McLeod TMS), rate new shipment requests, and work to profitably grow each existing customer handed down from the Sales group. The Customer Service Representative will report directly to the Customer Service Manager. This role will be based at our Decatur, IL North American Headquarters.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist Account Management Team and Sales Team on day-to-day customer operations
Work with Sales Team to onboard new customer accounts
Manage each customer’s shipment from start to finish
Understand customer’s business and utilize knowledge and resources to provide customized solutions to each account
Address and support customer challenges, opportunities and threats while considering their tolerance for transit time, cost, risk and market conditions
Own all aspects of the customer relationship, acting as the primary point of contact, and manage customer’s logistics needs including rate quotations, order management, and customer reports
Elicit customer feedback to help guide future product and service offerings
Transition large customer accounts to Strategic Account Managers to service and develop as needed
Train additional team members, as necessary
Logistics consulting and cost reductions
Track and report trends in customer accounts to management, including revenue and load count reports
Development and tracking of key performance indicators and metrics
Establish and meet individual goals and objectives relating to all aspect of the position
Participate in department sales and operational meetings
Completion of customer tracking reports
Track and trace shipments
Enter orders and quotes
Quoting customer business
Job Requirements:
Excellent verbal communication skills with emphasis on telephone communications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Aggressive self-starter with keen negotiation skills in order to be successful in this role
Knowledge of brokerage, third party logistics and freight forwarding is helpful
Previous sales experience is strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as, Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint is required
A college degree is preferred
Ability to build strong internal and external relationships
Ability to work alone or in a team environment
